    • Lake and peat sediments/deposits as archives for paleoenvironmental and climatic evolution and its dynamic in southern Africa during the late Quaternary
    • Multi-proxy approach including: leaf-wax and plant-derived sugar biomarkers, compound-specific stable isotopes as well as various (in)organic (bio)geochemical analyses
    • Sediment fluxes and transformation processes into lakes (source to sink) and sediment distribution in lakes
