2015. Promotion in Sozialgeographie an der Universität Rennes 2, Frankreich, mit der Arbeit: Städtische Sicherheit in Bewegung: Staat, soziale Bewegungen und alltägliche Praktiken in der Herstellung von Sicherheit. 2008 Master Research in Regionalplanung, Universität Rennes 2, Frankreich. 2002. Bachelor in Geographie. Die Nationale Universität von Kolumbien. Die Lehre und Forschung konzentrieren sich auf Konfliktanalyse, Sicherheit, Frieden und Epistemologien des sozialen Raums und des Umweltdenkens. Mitglied im Forschungsnetzwerk des Deutsch-Kolumbianischen Zentrums für Frieden (CAPAZ).  Lehrbeauftragter und Forscher an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena; Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin; die Universität Leipzig in Deutschland; die University Externado of Colombia, School of Geographical Studies der Technologischen und Pädagogischen Universität von Kolumbien; Universität von Antioquia, Medellin, Kolumbien, und FLACSO in Quito. Fördermitglied des Network of Critical Geography Rooted in Latin America (GEORAIZAL). 

Forschungsaktivitäten und Projekte

Meine Forschungstätigkeit auf dem Gebiet der Friedensgeographie ist inspiriert von zwei Prämissen sozialer Bewegungen Lateinamerikas:

„Die Natur ist der ultimative politische Verbündete“. (Mapuche-Dichter. Jorge Spindola)

„Frieden ist die Wiederherstellung der kollektiven Funktionen des Territoriums“ (Process of Black Communities, Kolumbien).

2022

  • Research project: “A story mapping of the initiatives to potentiate the biosphere among indigenous communities in Latin America”. At the Jena Center for Reconciliation Studies, Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

  • Convener of the Colombian Day conference. Trajectories of Peace and Reparation of Black and Indigenous Communities. Jena Center for Reconciliation Studies, June 13 2022.
  • Fellowship researcher at Kroc Institute, Notre Dame University, IN. USA. Whit the project “The uneven socio-spatial process of building sustainable peace. An intersectional spatial analysis of the patterns and trends of implementing the Final Agreement to End the Armed Conflict and Build a Stable and Lasting Peace signed by the Colombian State and the FARC-EP”.
  • Trainer at the virtual courses school of German Colombia Peace Institute CAPAZ. 2022 Course 1 Dynamics and territorial conflicts. Course 2. Pedagogies of reconciliation. Course 3. Geopolitics of knowledge and peace education.
  • Finishing the book writing. Research methodologies in socio-spatial studies. A Critical Realist perspective.

2020-2021

  • Teaching on Methodologies for Reconciliation and peace studies. Doctoral Program Religion, Conflict, Reconciliation at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena.
  • Co-coordinator for a capacity-building project on The Academic Alliance For Reconciliation and Peacebuilding-AARMENA
  • Co-editor and author in the Handbook of Conflict Transformation, Peace Studies, and Reconciliation Studies. Granada University (Spain) and Jena Center for Reconciliation Studies for Erasmus Plus project Building Capacity in AARMENA Region.
  • Facilitator, lecturer, and organizer of the workshops on Peace, conflict transformation, and reconciliation in the AARMENA Region. March 2021 in Ramallah. The project entitled Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation is financed for Erasmus Plus.
  • Convener of the conference Colombian Day conference: Women initiatives for Peace and reconciliation. A comparative perspective. May 26-27, 2021. In the framework of Colombian Day realized every year in Jena.

2020-2019

  • Fellowship research in the Maria Sibylla Merian Center for Advanced Latin American Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences (CALAS) Buenos Aires.
